Mufti Mohammad Anwar Khan Qasmi (Lead Teacher)
Mufti Mohammad Anwar Khan Qasmi, a graduate of Darul Uloom Deoband with specialization in Ḥadīth, has established himself as a leading scholar, translator, and educator. He pursued higher education with an MA in English from Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU) in 2012, followed by a BA in Arabic (2017) and an MA in Islamic Studies (2019) both from Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI), New Delhi. Recognizing the need for quality translation and localization services, he founded ‘Indo-Arab Multilingual Pvt. Ltd.’ in 2013, which has since grown into a reputable firm with a team of over 30 expert translators.
His passion for Islamic research led to the establishment of the ‘Bayt al-Hikmah’ in 2016, a dynamic center in Deoband dedicated to publishing scholarly works on diverse Islamic topics. As an academic, his contributions extend beyond traditional scholarship; he serves as the Editor-in-Chief of the ‘Deoband Journal of Islamic Thought’ (formerly ‘Islamic Literature Review’), a bilingual journal in Arabic and English that fosters intellectual revival and discourse on contemporary Islamic thought.
In 2016, Mufti Anwar launched the Arabic Literacy program, a pioneering initiative that provides structured Arabic language instructions to students worldwide, where he personally leads a team of language experts. His scholarly contributions are vast, having authored, co-authored, edited, translated, and annotated over 60 books in Urdu, Arabic, and English, covering a wide array of subjects in Islamic studies, literature, and thought. His expertise has taken him to international academic and Islamic conferences, where he has actively engaged with scholars and researchers to bridge classical Islamic knowledge with modern intellectual currents. Maulana Jawwad Ali Khan Qasmi
Maulana Jawwad Ali Khan Qasmi is a scholar of Arabic and Islamic studies, having completed his Fazilat (Alimiyyat) from Darul Uloom, Deoband in 2004. Seeking to enhance his linguistic proficiency, he pursued a two-year English Diploma Course from the Department of English Language & Literature at Darul Uloom, Deoband, graduating in 2006. His academic journey then took him to New Delhi, where he specialized in Arabic language and literature at ‘Mahad al-Takhaṣṣuṣ fi al-Lughah al-ʿArabiyyah’. Alongside this, he refined his spoken English skills at ‘Inlingua Institute’, New Delhi. Further expanding his expertise, he completed a two-year Diploma Course in Arabic Language from the National Council for Promotion of Urdu Language between 2009 and 2011. His formal academic qualifications include a BA (Hons) in Arabic from Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) in 2014 and an MA in Arabic from the same university in 2017.
Alongside his education, Maulana Qasmi gained extensive professional experience in translation and linguistic services. From 2009 to 2013, he worked as a translator with ‘Indo-Arab Multilingual Pvt. Ltd.’, a leading language translation company based in Deoband. He then joined ‘E-Procurement Technologies Limited’ in 2013 as an Executive Translator, where he continued to refine his translation skills until 2017. His work in the language industry not only sharpened his proficiency in Arabic, English, and Urdu but also equipped him with practical insights into multilingual communication and cultural adaptation.
In 2017, Maulana Qasmi transitioned to academia, joining ‘Haji Daudbhai Vajir Aghariya Jafari Arts & Commerce College’, affiliated with Hemchandracharya North Gujarat University, as an Assistant Professor of Arabic. As a scholar and educator, he remains dedicated to fostering linguistic and intellectual engagement with the Arabic language and its literary heritage. Fluent in Urdu, English, and Arabic, Maulana Qasmi continues to contribute to scholarship, translation, and education, inspiring students and researchers alike in the field of Arabic and Islamic studies.
Sadiya Akhtar (Umme Arham)
Sadiya Akhtar (Umme Arham) is a scholar and linguist with a deep-rooted passion for Urdu and Arabic. She began her academic journey at Hassan PU College in Karnataka, where she completed her Matriculation and Pre-University Course. Pursuing her religious and linguistic studies, she earned an Alimah degree from al-Mahad al-Tadreebi al-Mihani li al-Banat in Hasan, Karnataka. Her love for Urdu literature led her to join Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU), Hyderabad, where she obtained both a BA and MA in Urdu. With a commitment to education, she initially served as an instructor at a local madrasa, imparting Arabic knowledge to young learners.
Her expertise in Arabic and Urdu translation brought her to ‘Indo-Arab Multilingual Pvt. Ltd.’, where she has been a dedicated translator for the past seven years. Currently, she shares her linguistic proficiency as an Arabic tutor with ‘Learn Arabic Online’ under Bayt al-Hikmah. She has been teaching online in the Alimah Department of Bayt al-Hikmah as a senior faculty member since 5 years. Her role involves teaching core subjects in the Alimah curriculum, contributing tc scholarship.
Beyond academics and translationo academic development, and mentoring students in their pursuit of Islami, she has made a mark in Urdu literature, authoring several thought-provoking articles and evocative poems, which have been featured in renowned Urdu magazines and dailies. Her journey is a testament to her unwavering dedication to language, literature, and education.
